"The memory of the past"
This photograph comes from a film experiment using double exposure. I photographed the roll once, then put it back in the camera without knowing or controlling the process, unaware of the order of frames, what I had captured, or what would emerge.
The image shows PMAN, the center of Chisinau, the Triumphal Arc and the Train of Deportation, where an exhibition honored the victims of Stalinist deportations. In this photograph the double exposure is barely visible. Faintly, people from another photograph walk in different directions along the road, some aware, others unaware of the past, the collective trauma, or their place in it. Even then, the past is always here, sometimes more present than the present itself.

Mihaela is passionate about film photography and collage. She prefers to observe the moment rather than recreate it, focusing on the everyday and on fleeting, unrepeatable fragments of life. Through photography and collage, she explores themes such as time, memory, and the fragility of human experience, seeking to transform them into visual poetry.
