"Duality"
This work is based on an artifact with Olmec motifs. The symbol represented is a werewolf. Half Jaguar half man. The representation of a deity from another culture seemed attractive to me due to its laconic and expressive form. The aggressiveness represented on the work, viewed from another angle, can be interpreted as a cry of pain, or a cry for help. Each viewer can find something personal that represents only him in this image.
Patricia Sorin (pseudonym Tracey Cky) is a Moldovan visual artist and writer based in Chișinău. A graduate of the Academy of Arts (2019), she studied oil painting and mural art, later working on church painting projects in both Moldova and Romania. She is currently a decorator at the Municipal Puppet Theatre “Guguță.”
Patricia combines painting with storytelling, exploring ideas that develop slowly and intuitively. She works with oil, tempera, charcoal, graphite, pastel, and especially ink — her preferred medium. Despite frequent creative blocks, she continues to shape her artistic language and seeks more time to paint for herself.
