"Composition with pears"
Through its warm color palette, reminiscent of childhood summers, this artwork aims to evoke forgotten and nostalgic memories from the past. Not by chance, it is titled "Composition with Pears"; in this context, the composition refers both to the arrangement of the visual elements and to the resemblance of the pears to musical notes. Much like a melody, the arrangement of pears in space creates a visual rhythm that invites the viewer to let their eyes wander through the composition.
Greta-Cornelia Șochichiu enjoys creating compositions with simple shapes, full of symbolism. She draws inspiration from nature, various cultures, personal experiences, and universal themes. Having lived abroad, her childhood was influenced by multiple cultures, which taught her to perceive the contrasts between them, something she believes enriches her way of seeing the world. Her goal is to find the perfect balance between the timeless and the contemporary, between the universal and the traditional.
