This ceramic sculpture is inspired by Soviet monumental art and the spirit of the Olympic Games. Its dynamic, rising form echoes the shape of the Olympic flame, symbolizing energy, unity, and aspiration — themes central to the Soviet artistic ideal. The work reinterprets that aesthetic through a contemporary lens, preserving its strength and motion in clay.
Ecaterina Podlesnov has been studying ceramics for nearly two years and is currently exploring the search for her own artistic style. By experimenting with various techniques and materials, she aims to discover the forms of expression that feel most authentic to her.
